Welcome to the website of the Whitepath Men’s Golf Association. Below is information on our association and tournament schedule for 2013. If you are not an Association member, we invite you to join us for fun tournament play. If you are interested in joining the association, please contact one of the committee members listed below. We look forward to you joining us for good fun and camaraderie.

MARCH 16 - INDIVIDUAL FULL HANDICAP INDEX

APRIL 6 - 2 PERSON TOTAL SCORE FULL HANDICAP – PICK YOUR PARTNER

MAY 11 -INDIVIDUAL FULL HANDICAP

JUNE 1 - 2 PERSON BLIND DRAW – FULL HANDICAP

JUNE 15 (Tentative Date - please check back to verify this date!)
2 PERSON TRIPLE PLAY – SCRAMBLE, ALT SHOT, BEST BALL – PICK YOUR PARTNER - 100% OF COMBINED HANDICAP

JUNE 29 - RED – WHITE – BLACK – INDVIDUAL FULL HANDICAP – EACH HOLE PLAYED FROM A DIFFERENT TEE

JULY 20 - INDIVIDUAL FULL HANDICAP

AUGUST 10 - 2 MAN SCRAMBLE – PICK YOUR PARTNER – 100% OF COMBINED HANDICAP

AUGUST 31 -      INDIVIDUAL PAR 3 – 100% OF HANDICAP – EACH HOLE WILL BE A PAR 3

SEPT 21 & 22 - WPMGA CHAMPIONSHIP – FULL HANDICAP – MUST BE A MEMBER OF THE WGA TO PARTICIPATE

OCT 12 - INDIVIDUAL FULL HANDICAP

NOV 2 - INDIVIDUAL RED TEE 100 % OF HANDICAP – EACH HOLE PLAYED FROM THE RED TEE

YOU MUST BE A MEMBER OF THE WPMGA TO PARTICIPATE IN THE TOURNAMENTS

• Available to both men and women
• Your membership enrolls you in the Georgia State Golf Association and their USGA / GHIN handicap program. This along with your membership in the WPMGA is renewable each year. Annual fee is $35
• Each tournament’s entry fee is $25 plus golf fees if applicable
• A minimum of 4 places in Gross & Net will be paid. The more entries the more places paid!!!!
• Winners will be determined by alternating between Gross and Net. Pick low Gross then low Net then 2nd low Gross then 2nd low Net and so on.
• Please come join us for good fun and camaraderie
• If you have any suggestions as to what type of tournament you would like to see the WPMGA sponsor, please let one of the Tournament Committee Members know or leave a note for us with the Pro Shop staff.

WHITEPATH MEN’S GOLF ASSOCIATION TOURNAMENT RULES

1. Tournaments will be played from the White, Black or Red tees. Handicaps will be adjusted accordingly

2. Fourteen club rule is in effect.

3. All golf balls deemed to be in play MUST be marked with the player’s identification.[ Dots, Lines, Player’s initials, etc.]

4. Cart Path Relief – Ball must be dropped within one club length from spot of relief – For relief take stance, stay on closet side of path without standing on path, ground club and make drop within one club length of that spot. Your closest point of relief may be in the rough.

5. Yardage Markers - Free Relief - drop ball WITHIN ONE CLUB LENGTH - NO CLOSER TO THE HOLE.

6. Putting – No gimmies – PUTT EVERYTHING OUT

7. All areas outside the mowed rough areas will be played as a HAZARD. You may do one of the following:

• If you find your ball you may play it as it lies – WITHOUT any penalty stroke. You may move “LOOSE IMPEDIMENTS” cut branches, sticks, etc., “NOT THE BALL” OR...

UNDER PENALTY OF ONE STROKE YOU MAY DO THE FOLLOWING:

• IF YOU FIND YOUR BALL it may dropped within two club lengths, no nearer the hole, in the closest mown area. This could be rough or fairway.
• IF BALL IS NOT FOUND – drop a ball within two club lengths of the spot where the original ball ENTERED the hazard ( not where you found your ball ), no nearer the hole, OR keeping the spot of ENTRY and the HOLE in a line and go back as far as you like.

8. Triple bogey is the highest score that can be taken on any given hole

9. You may use a mulligan on the first tee only. You can choose which ball to play.

10. Scorecards should be signed and turned in to the Pro Shop or Tournament Committee Member

11. Scorecard Playoffs will start on hole 15 and proceed backwards starting with hole 14, 13, etc.

12. NO FIVESOMES – we will make every attempt to pair groups into Threesomes and Foursomes.

13. USGA Rules apply. If in doubt, play a second ball and the Tournament Committee will make the final decision.
